Working with Rope Access Equipment
The Rope Access Worker’s kit consists of a Full Body harness, work positioning attachments, ascending and descending devices, and a back-up rope grab unit. When in Descending Mode the technician has a descending device on one system and a back-up rope-grab on a completely separate and independent system. While in the Ascending Mode the technician has a combination of a chest grab and a hand/foot device on one system and a back-up ropegrabbing device on a completely separate and independent system. By applying a variety of techniques, the worker can climb, descend and move horizontally, all with a minimum amount of gear. The same kit also allows the worker to perform self-rescue or the rescue of a co-worker if necessary. |
